Collection: Full Silicone Babies

Care & Handling Guide

Full-body silicone reborns and silicone-blend dolls have different care needs. Please check your specific product listing and any instructions provided by the artist before following general guidance.

Full-Body Platinum Silicone

Full-body platinum silicone dolls (such as LeLou's full-body silicone babies) can be submerged in water, making bath time a realistic part of the experience. When bathing:

  • Use lukewarm water — avoid hot water, which can damage the material over time.
  • Use a gentle, fragrance-free soap or baby wash.
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
  • After bathing, pat dry gently with a soft towel, then allow to air dry completely before storing.

Partial Silicone & Cloth-Body Dolls

Dolls with a cloth body and silicone limbs or head are not suitable for full submersion. Spot-clean silicone parts with a damp cloth and mild soap only. Keep the cloth body dry to prevent damage.

Powdering

A light dusting of cornstarch or translucent baby powder can restore a soft, realistic feel to silicone skin and reduce tackiness. Apply with a soft brush and gently buff off any excess.

Handling

  • Support the head and body when lifting or posing, just as you would with a real newborn.
  • Avoid sharp objects, fingernails, and rough surfaces that may nick or tear the silicone.
  • Keep away from ink, dyes, and direct sunlight for extended periods, which can cause staining or discoloration.

Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Do not wrap tightly in plastic, which can trap moisture. Use a breathable cloth bag or box instead.
  • Avoid placing heavy items on top of the doll, which can cause creasing or deformation over time.

Artist Instructions

Every artist may use slightly different silicone formulas, paints, and rooting techniques. Always follow any care instructions included with your specific doll, as those take precedence over general guidance.
